Located in beautiful County Kilkenny in the south-east of Ireland, Hillview Alpacas offers breeders and pet-lovers alike a new centre of excellence concerning everything ‘ALPACA’.
Alpacas are member of the camelid family, closely related to the Llama, Guanaco and Vicuna. They originate from the alti plano in South America. Alpacas are not wild, they have been domesticated and bred for their soft, light yet hard wearing and warm fiber for over 6000 years.
Alpacas are herd animals and can not be kept on their own. They give birth to 1 cria per annum in daylight so that its fleece can dry before the night temperature on the alti plano drops below zero.
We at Hillview Alpacas are fascinated by these graceful, curious and affectionate animals and happy to develop this industry. We want to encourage anyone with a serious interest to call in or contact us. We provide a full range of service from mating, selling and husbandry but also on how to use their wonderful , luxurious fiber.
